Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida - May 2019

If you are here that means that you either just recently purchased one of our preset packs or you are considering making a purchase. Either way, thank you so much for visiting our site and we hope this short blog post answers any of the questions you may have.

Q: What exactly are Presets?

A: Presets are filters created by photographers and editors to help expedite the editing process and also achieve a uniform appearance for their work. The presets we sell on our site are created personally by us and used as a base edit to begin our post production process. Presets can be used by anyone, no matter how much experience you have or don’t have. Think of them as a time-saver… apply the base edit, make a few adjustments and get back out in the world to create more beautiful content. We only offer the presets that we love and use the most because we want to help you edit like we do!

Q: Do I need Lightroom for Desktop (Lr CC) or Mobile?

A: You definitely need one or the other but this is a somewhat complex question so let’s tackle all the basics:

  1. Lr CC is more intricate and requires a subscription due to all the added features, whereas Lr Mobile can be used for free.

  2. Presets specific to Lr CC can be used on Mobile and will import automatically due to your subscription, however Mobile Presets cannot be used on Lr CC. Please Note: If you buy our Mobile Presets and want to use them on your computer they will. NOT work and if you buy our Desktop Presets and want to use them on your free Lr Mobile app they also will NOT work.

  3. Which application you use is your personal preference. As a baseline here, Lr CC is more commonly used for editing RAW and uncompressed photography taken with professional equipment since the program can handle that kind of file. Mobile is more commonly used for just that: Mobile. This is perfect for editing your phones captures which are automatically JPEG and compressed.

Q: How will I receive the presets once purchased?

A: Once your purchase is complete you will receive an email that as a link for you to download them

Q: I downloaded the presets but now I can’t find them…

A: Check your ‘Recents’ folder and look for the date of the download, check your ‘Downloads’ folder or just search your computer for ‘PosiPresets’. If you cannot find them on your computer and the download link has expired, contact us via DM to verify your purchase. Once verified we can email you another zip file.

Q: Will the photos I take look like yours?

A: Maybe! Here’s the thing… no photo is exactly the same and there are so many factors that effect the outcome of a photo before even getting it into post production. What are these factors? Well… consider differences in professional equipment vs phone photography, exposure, overall camera settings, framing and composure - just to name a few. Presets have always been a launching point for editing, never a ‘fix’. If a photo is bad (pardon our French) it is just a bad photo and that needs to be accepted by the photographer that took it. Crooked, poorly framed and/or incorrectly exposed photos might need to retaken to fix the issues with the photo before editing can have a positive effect. Keep in mind that even though you are using a preset from us that this is still your photo, still your art. It should still be unique to you.

Q: I shoot my photos with a phone… will the presets work?

A: Yes! We have tested our presets extensively and part of that process was ensuring they work perfectly with RAW camera files and more simplistic JPEG files. As a heads up for you phone photographers, phones tend to lean into overexposure. If you apply our presets and the photos are now too bright, DON’T WORRY! Apply the preset you like the best and then manually decrease the exposure - simple.

Q: Are refunds offered for preset purchases?

A: All sales are final. Presets are a digital product and therefore cannot be returned. Once purchased, even if purchased incorrectly (Desktop instead of Mobile or vice versa), we will not offer a refund. This is stated in the product description and all PosiPresets are specifically and correctly titled to avoid confusion.
